About Us
We are a small family-run business and have been involved in the leather goods industry for over 40 years in both retailing and manufacturing. The first Canopy store opened in 1993, on Sadler Gate situated within Derby's "Cathedral Quarter".
What started life as a traditional luggage and leather goods store has now evolved and changed, as the demand for a more luxurious, fashion-conscious product has grown. We now stock womenswear in both our Nottingham and Derby stores and Menswear in our Derby store(also situated on Sadlergate). Also we carry a selection of accessories, luggage and footwear by an extensive range of sought after designers.
Our emphasis is on quality of product and service. We have a passion for the products we sell and care about our customers. Our aim is to provide an eclectic mix of brands to suit all. We firmly believe that, as a small business, we can offer a service that is far superior to that of a multiple or high street store.
We always aim to be friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
We hope our site reflects our ethos. In it, we have tried to offer a carefully hand-picked selection of stock which will grow with us. Some items will not display a price - to meet the wishes of that particular supplier. Should you want more information on any of these items, please ring or email for details.

In store, we also have a select range of footwear. Ladies footwear includes French Sole, Jaime Mascaro, Pretty Ballerina, Superga, Ash, DKNY, Emu and Aspiga while men’s includes Grenson, Crockett and Jones, Loakes, Clarks Originals, Hudson Purified, Red Wing, Trickers, Superga and Sebago, amongst others. At present there are no shoes on the web site, but this is likely to change over time.
